Susie Brown Susie Brown has made Silver City her home since 2012. Susie studied fine arts, worked as a freelance illustrator and found a career in nonprofit finance and administration. She supports our fundraising efforts.
Mia Estrada Mia Estrada is a ceramic artist based in New Mexico. She specializes in ceramics and public art installations. She feels that creating art can build a deeper connection to her culture, creating a stronger sense of identity.
Chrys Masuda Chrys Masuda is our Advisory Committee secretary, bringing years of experience working within healthcare and community settings. Her commitment to programs that benefit youth and the arts have included serving as a founding member for a youth orchestra in rural Colorado and a board member for community orchestras. Her art, Chryskraft, is an avenue that combines a love for sewing vintage fabrics and bringing a whimsical twist to familiar objects.
Teja Miller-Clark Teja Miller-Clark has been with the Youth Mural Program since 9th grade. It has made a huge impact on her. Now she is part of the Youth Mural Program Advisory Committee managing YMP’s involvement with Give Grandly and looks forward to what comes next for the program.
Jay Hemphill Jay Hemphill is a freelance photographer based out of Silver City, NM.
Giovanna Helsey J. L. Giovanna Hesley, BFA, MEd, MS writes grants for the Youth Mural Program. She is a working artist who lives in Silver City, New Mexico. She won the Niche Award for the American Crafts Council for her hand-painted silks.
Mary Ragins Mary Ragins’ career in historic preservation included 20 years focusing on the documentation and conservation of cultural resources across New Mexico. For a time, she administered the Santa Fe Community Youth Mural Program where she oversaw the contract artists who mentored youth in the program. She is a fiber artist who enjoys weaving, dyeing, and rug hooking.
