2010 “Games We Played”
Artists Beth Menczer, Lynn Niedermeyer, and Diana Ingalls Leyba worked with local youth for this project. Inspiration for the content of the mural was the result of the student artists playing games with local community elders during a Game Day. Elders reminisced about the games they remembered from their own childhood, and these memories were the inspiration for the content of this paint and mosaic mural located inside the courtyard of the building.
Directions to Glenwood:
Travel north on Highway 180 to Glenwood, NM (approx. 65 miles from Silver City). Pass the entry to the Glenwood District Forest Ranger Office and Between mile markers 52 & 51. As you come down the hill, on the right is an old gas station and signage for the Glenwood Community Library. Take a left turn onto Mengas Lane (dirt road). Travel a short distance and you will come to the Glenwood Community Complex (Community Center, Library and Clinic)
2010 “Los juegos a los que jugábamos”
Las artistas Beth Menczer, Lynn Niedermeyer y Diana Ingalls Leyba trabajaron junto a los jóvenes de la localidad en este proyecto. La inspiración para el contenido del mural fue el resultado de los juegos de los artistas estudiantes con los ancianos de la comunidad durante el Día de Juego. Los ancianos rememoraron los juegos que ellos recordaban de su infancia, y estas memorias fueron la inspiración para el contenido de este mural de mosaico y pintura ubicado dentro del patio del edificio.

2014 “Big Horn Sheep & Petroglyphs”
Beth Menczer was the lead artist for this project that was inspired by student artists studying ancient petroglyphs and the role Big Horn Sheep have played in their community. This ancient rock art provides a wealth of images crated by Native Americans over the past several thousand years, and Big Horn Sheep have come back after being nearly eliminated from this area. The fascinating mosaics vignettes are located on a wall in the Community Center.
2014 “Carneros salvajes y petroglifos”
Beth Menczer fue la artista principal para este proyecto, cuya inspiración nació en los estudiantes durante el análisis de antiguos petroglifos y el papel que el Carnero Salvaje tenía en su comunidad. Este ancestral arte rupestre provee riqueza de imágenes creadas por Americanos Nativos durante los últimos miles de años, y el Carnero Salvaje ha vuelto tras casi ser eliminado del área. Las fascinantes viñetas de mosaico están localizadas en un muro del Centro de la Comunidad.
